Abstract

Various concepts for monitoring gas in medical facilities were developed and evaluated. The best-rated concept, the “hybrid solution”, was developed and tested as part of this bachelor thesis in the form of a proof of concept. As a result of the work, a modular, scalable system was successfully developed, which enables the monitoring of pressure and flow values of medically used gases and gas distribution systems. The system can be implemented cost-effectively and flexibly by using open source software and hardware. In addition, a feasibility study was carried out with the aim of finding a solution for recording the flow values with minimal geometrical space conditions.
